Modern multi-point window locks
With a simple turn of a key, multiple locks positioned around the edge of the window securely bolt it into its frame. Most commonly found in modern uPVC windows, aluminium windows and timber alternative windows, multi-point locks must feature at least 3 locking points but often have 5 or more. Even better, our uPVC windows feature 8 locking points (9 on larger sizes). Combined with robust window handles and hardware, all our windows feature the latest multi-point locking hardware. Installing some of the most secure wooden windows currently available, our beautiful timber window frames also feature home insurance-approved multipoint espagnolette locking for complete peace of mind.

Since October 2015, all new homes must have double glazing that achieves PAS 24:2012 to be compliant with Document Q of UK Building Regulations. Meeting these requirements shows the windows can resist physical attack by casual or opportunist burglars by being both sufficiently robust and fitted with appropriate hardware. It's likely your home insurance will require all accessible windows to be fitted with an appropriate locking device too. Therefore, lockable window handles are advisable throughout the house, particularly on ground floor level. All our windows come with lockable window handles and are internally beaded as standard.
Window restrictors do exactly what they say on the tin, preventing the window from opening too far. Side hung and top hung windows can be designed to serve as an emergency exit window by meeting the minimum width and height required to comply with British Building Regulations.
Lockable night vents can also be incorporated when secure ventilation is essential. In very vulnerable locations, window security brackets should also be considered to prevent intruders from levering the window from the hinge side.

Single glazed windows are easy to spot and even easier to breakthrough. All our window products incorporate modern double glazing as standard, with a range of strengthened, obscured and decorative glass upgrades available. Our uPVC and aluminium windows can also accommodate triple glazed units, should your project require them.

The most prominent window security test standards in Britain are PAS 24 and Secured by Design. PAS 24 (Publicly Available Specification) is a minimum standard used to assess the security performance of windows, with PAS 24:2016 being the most recent version*. Secured by Design is the official police security initiative, working to improve the security of buildings. Amongst the many security features our windows can offer, these include:
- Our aluminium windows are installed with Yale's highly renowned and dependable Encloser Lock, tested to PAS 24: 2012.
- Our wooden windows are fully compliant with the latest building regulations and certified to the latest PAS 24:2012 standards.
- Our uPVC windows meet and exceed all current building standards including PAS24:2016.
- Many of our windows can be upgraded to a level endorsed by Secured by Design.
