uPVC, Aluminium, Composite, Timber and Timber Effect Doors

A new front or back door will not only add significant style and thermal capabilities to your home, but it will also provide superior protection against forced entry. Classic wooden doors and timber alternative doors are most commonly approved for listed buildings and in conservation areas, so you may need to weigh up the benefits of both to choose the right door material for your property. For more modern buildings, homeowners are able to also consider low-maintenance uPVC, charming composite doors, and sleek aluminium.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re sure you’ve got some questions or queries about the many door materials that we can offer. If you can’t find an answer below, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Which is the best material for a front door?

This depends on what you’re looking for in a new front door. All of our door materials have their own individual benefits, but they all provide superior energy efficiency, home security and weather-resistance.

Which is the cheapest door material?

Generally, uPVC tends to be the most affordable material thanks to cost-effective manufacturing that make it much more readily available than timber or aluminium. However, every door is custom-made to accommodate your property and its specific needs - therefore, our prices are completely bespoke. Renowned for our high-performance front door installations, visit our showroom to experience the quality for yourself, get in contact or request a free, no obligation quote today.

What is the thermal break in aluminium front doors?

All our aluminium front doors utilise polyamide thermal break technology. This is where a reinforced barrier is placed between the inside and the outside of the aluminium frames, which effectively reduces the flow of thermal energy between conductive materials; making buildings warmer and quieter.

Do you need planning permission for replacement doors in a conservation area?

Unless your property is listed or covered by an Article 4 Direction, you shouldn’t need to apply for planning permission. As experts in this field, with many timber and timber alternative doors accepted in conservation areas across Hampshire and Sussex, don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss this further.

Apart from sending the wrong glass for the door I can't fault this installation. The error was soon rectified with little fuss. The fitter went just that extra mile to make everything perfect.
